Junior Ben Bankhead posts season-low round of 70.

El Paso, Texas - The University of Utah golf team shot 7-under par in Friday's first round at inaugural Price's Give `Em Five Invitational, and stands in second place midway through the second round.
With a 281 in the first round the Utes led the tournament. When the second round was suspended due to darkness the Utes stood in second place at 6-under par. The rest of the second round and the final round will be played on Saturday.
Sophomore Brandon Kida shot a 69 in the first round, and was even through 15 holes of the second round before the tournament was postponed for the night. His first round 69 marked a season-low score.
Junior Ben Bankhead shot a score of 70 in the first round, and was also at even par through 15 holes. Bankhead's first round of 70 was his lowest score of the season.
Redshirt junior Casey Halliday completed both rounds, shooting a 144 (71-73). Redshirt freshman Jonathon Thomas also shot a 144 (72-72). Sophomore Gentry Hicks posted a two-round score of 149 (71-78). Sophomore Jack Maerki is competing as an unattached individual, posting 157 (82-75).
The end of the second round will be played at 7:30 a.m. MT on Saturday. The final round of the tournament will be completed on Saturday with a staggered shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. MT.
