Fresh off a 3-1 win over Yale in the first round of the 2013 NCAA Volleyball Tournament, the University of Utah will face No. 2 national seed Penn State in a second-round match on Saturday, Dec. 7 in University Park, Pa.
First serve from Rec Hall is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
This is Utah's first time in the tournament since 2008 and the 11th in school history. All 11 trips have come since 1998.
The Utes were 26th in the NCAA's latest RPI rankings and sport a 21-12 overall record and a 9-11 mark in Pac-12 Conference play, which had them tied with Colorado for seventh in the league standings.
This is also Utah's first season with 20 or more wins since 2008 and the 14th under Ute head coach Beth Launiere.

First-Round Recap: Four Utes reached double-figures in kills and Utah defeated Yale (27-29, 25-15, 26-24, 25-16) on Friday, Dec. 6 in an NCAA Tournament First-Round match in Rec Hall. Utah outhit Yale for the match, .342-.226, and outblocked the Bulldogs, 12.0-8.0, to go with a 70-64 edge in digs.
Utes on the Comeback Path: The Utes have won four of their last five matches in which they have lost the first set of a match.
Efficiency Pays Off: Utah is 21-2 this season when posting a higher hitting percentage than its opponents. The only matches where the Utes did not come away with a win in this scenario was when they outhit No. 3 Washington on Nov. 1 and Colorado on Nov. 27.
Getting Defensive: Utah has forced 18 of its opponents this season to hit under .200. Ute foes have combined to hit .188, which is fifth in the latest Pac-12 stats.

Schofield For 1,000: Junior outside hitter Chelsey Schofield (Provo, Utah) became the 15th member of Utah's 1,000-kill club and currently has 1,010 career kills. She also has 968 career digs. Schofield tallied a team-high 15 kills Friday against Yale and 12 digs for her 14th double-double in 2013 and the 35th of her career. She now has 16 double-figure-kill efforts this season and 58 over her career and she has had 10 or more digs in 25 matches this season and 56 during her career. She also served a pair of aces.
Return of the Mak: Junior outside hitter Makenzie Moea'i (American Fork, Utah) registered a season-high .625 hitting percentage with 11 kills on 16 attempts Friday against Yale with just one error for her sixth double-digit-kill effort of the year.
Morgan Maxes Out: Senior outside hitter Morgan Odale (Star, Idaho) turned in her 10th double-double on the year (31st of her career) Friday against Yale as she had 12 digs and 11 kills. She now has 19 double-figure-dig efforts in 2013 and 54 during her career to go with 14 outings of 10 or more kills this season and 66 during her career as a Ute.
Bragging on (Redd) Brandon: Senior middle blocker Erin Redd-Brandon (Spanish Fork, Utah) posted nine kills with just one attack error on 14 attempts for a .571 hitting percentage in Friday's first-round matchup against Yale. She also chipped in five blocks and three digs.
Blocking With Bateman: Junior middle blocker Bailey Bateman (Hooper, Utah) came up with a match-high seven blocks and added seven kills on a .294 efficiency on Friday against Yale. Bateman is sixth in the Pac-12 with 1.26 blocks per set. She is seventh in the Pac-12 with 1.26 blocks per set in league matches.
