Baird Earned Regional Honors

SALT LAKE CITY - Junior Utah volleyball player Lori Baird earned an honorable mention selection to the All-West Region team, it was announced today by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). She was also named as an honorable mention player last year.

Baird ranked second in the Mountain West Conference and in the top-20 in the country with 1.53 blocks per game. She also ranked fourth in the league in hitting percentage (.316). Baird was third on the team with 2.93 kills per game and second with 27 aces.

Baird was named MWC Co-Player of the Week on Oct. 29, leading Utah to wins over Utah Valley, Wyoming and Air Force. After hitting a career-best 18 kills against UNLV in the MWC Tournament, she was named to the all-tournament team.

The Utes finished their season 15-15.
