Head Coach Beth Launiere today inked three players for the 2004 season.

SALT LAKE CITY - University of Utah volleyball coach Beth Launiere today announced that she has received National Letters of Intent for the 2004 season from Kate Robison, a 6-0 outside hitter from Clearfield High School, Emillie Toone, a 6-6 middle blocker from American Fork High School and Whitney Webb, a 6-1 middle blocker from Gilbert High School in Gilbert, Ariz.
"As a whole, this is one of the most experienced and athletic classes we've had," Launiere said. "They all have great size."
A three-time team captain, Robison's team recently placed second at the 2003 state championships. She was named first-team academic all-state.
Robison's team placed third at state during her junior year and fifth when she was a sophomore. She was named first-team all-state, all-region and all-area during both her sophomore and junior seasons.
Robison also plays club for High Country and participated in the Moscow-Utah Games.
"Kate has played a lot of high-level volleyball," Launiere said. "She come in with a lot of experience. She has great leadership skills, is a tremendous athlete and a wonderful person."
Robison is the daughter of Scott and Tina Robison.
Toone, the younger sister of current Ute Amie Toone, is a three-time first team all-state selection. She recently had 39 kills in a 2003 state tournament match vs. Woods Cross.
Toone is also a member of High Country and played in the Moscow-Utah Games.
"Emillie's potential is unlimited," Launiere said. "We're excited about her size, but she also brings great athleticism."
Toone is the daughter of Jim and Karin Toone.
Webb, whose high school team recently won the Arizona state championship, is a three-time all-region pick (second-team in 2001, first-team in both 2002 and 2003, and Co-MVP in 2003). She was also named to the all-tournament team at the Westwood Tournament of Champions.
"Whitney plays for one of the top club teams in Arizona," Launiere said. "She comes with a lot of experience."
Webb, the daughter of Dennis and Kimberly Webb, plays for Club Red.
