COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Utah volleyball team hit for .424 as a team in a three-game sweep (30-23, 30-18, 30-22) of Air Force tonight. With the win, the Utes improve to 9-6 overall and 3-1 in Mountain West Conference play.
"We played very well this whole weekend," Head Coach Beth Launiere said. "We continued our good play from last night. This was a nice test for us, our first Mountain West road trip, and we were successful."
Sophomore Shelly Sommerfeldt paced Utah with 16 kills, six digs and three blocks.
Senior All-America candidate Kim Turner hit for .619 on the match, finishing with 14 kills. She also added three blocks.
Junior setters Tracy Neumeier and Kelsie Kartchner split time, with Neumeier dishing out 28 assists and Kartchner finishing with 16.
Senior libero Jackie Morrill posted a team-high seven digs.

The Utes play at instate rival Brigham Young at 7 p.m. next Friday, Oct. 10, in Provo, Utah.
