The 37th-ranked University of Utah women's tennis team (12-10) earned the school's first NCAA Tournament victory Friday in dramatic fashion, coming back from a 3-0 deficit to upset 21st-ranked Texas Tech (19-6), 4-3, in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Championships in Coral Gables, Fla. Sophomore Lucia Kovarcikova earned the match-clinching point for the Utes by defeating Kenna Kilgo 2-6, 6-1, 6-2, at the No. 5 singles spot.

The University of Utah women's tennis team (11-10) will face Texas Tech (19-5) in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Championships Friday, May 11, at 10 a.m. PT, in Coral Gables, Fla. This is the third consecutive year the Utes have earned a spot in the NCAA tournament.
