Ute Women's Tennis Players Compete In Park City Open

SALT LAKE CITY - Over the Labor Day weekend, several members of the University of Utah women's tennis team competed in the Hamlet Homes Park City Open Labor Day Tournament. Most of the competitors in the Open Division were either current or former college players.

Senior Sheri Esrock and freshman Ashley Young went undefeated and advanced to the singles finals. Esrock won 2-6, 6-4, 6-3. Junior Allison Hansen and freshman Whitney Eber teamed up to win the doubles championship 6-4, 6-4.

Esrock also advanced to the doubles semifinals with partner Cassie Kasteler, who was a senior last season. Rachel Alder advanced to the doubles quarterfinals with Young, and Cinthia Saucedo made it to the quarterfinals in singles. Other Utes that competed were Jenessa Jackson, Jen Wencel and Jessica Watts in the singles and doubles.
