Ferris and Kwok Earn Back a National Ranking

SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah women's tennis team shifted down in the national rankings given by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), but Elizabeth Ferris and Emily Kwok earned back a doubles rankings and Ferris advanced in the singles rankings.

The Utes are currently ranked No. 63 by the ITA, which released the updated list on Tuesday. The team currently has a 9-5 season record after a close 4-3 loss to No. 33 South Carolina last week. Utah was previously ranked No. 53.

Ferris made a giant leap in the singles rankings this week. The Ute has compiled a 24-8 singles record, which was improved by last week's 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 victory over No. 44 Gira Schofield of South Carolina. The Ute was previously ranked No. 52, but has earned a No. 43 singles ranking this week.

In doubles play, Ferris and Kwok made a return to the doubles rankings after posting an impressive 8-4 win over No. 33 Schofield and Ana Zubori of South Carolina last week.
 

 

 
 


Elizabeth Ferris has earned a No. 43 singles ranking and a No. 41 doubles ranking with partner Emily Kwok this week by the ITA.
