Sarah Pham captured the red-flight singles championship title, then clinched the doubles red-flight title with partner junior Callie Craig.
"We had a good showing in doubles this weekend, in both San Diego and New York," said head coach Mat Iandolo. "We picked up crucial wins, including two top 40 wins. It was a great week for our program and a good way to cap off the fall."
After upsetting No. 72 Kim Stubbe of Arizona Saturday in the semifinals, Pham managed her second upset of the tournament in the red flight final round, downing 34th ranked Edyta Cieplucha of Southern Methodist, 6-4, 6-2, to claim the red-flight singles championship.
Pham then returned with partner Craig in the doubles red flight. The duo netted a tight 9-8 victory over Southern Methodist's Cieplucha and Elena Fayner for the doubles championship title.
In other singles matches, Craig topped Hristina Dishkova of Southern Methodist in the white flight, 6-1, 6-4, as sophomore Natasha Smith fell to Washington's Riko Shimizu 6-1, 6-1, in the grey flight. Utah's Lexi Antista dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision to Isabelle Hoom of San Diego State in the gold flight.
In other doubles matches, junior Elena Najera-Salas and Smith suffered an 8-6 loss to Arizona's Stubbe and Lacey Smyth in the final round of the doubles black flight.
