BOISE, Idaho - The University of Utah women's tennis team concluded the second day of the Boise Invitational.
In singles play, senior Sheri Esrock defeated Robertina Marcu of Weber State in three matches (4-6,6-2,7-6(5)). Esrock downed Kaori Tanabe of Portland (6-1,6-3). Junior Allison Hansen beat Maria Bublik of Weber State (6-0, 6-1) but fell to Tanabe (6-2, 6-3). Freshman Whitney Eber defeated Monika Hoz de Vila of Oregon in three matches (6-4,6-7(8), 6-1). Anna Leksinska of Oregon defeated Eber (6-2, 6-4).
In doubles play, Esrock teamed up with Hansen to beat Portland's Tanabe/Marrinson (8-2).
Competition will conclude on Sunday.
