San Diego, Calif. - The University of Utah women's tennis team fell 4-1 to 46th-ranked San Diego State in the first round of the Mountain West Conference Championships today at the Barnes Tennis Center.
The Aztecs took the No. 1 and 2 doubles to earn the one point lead. However, Utah duo consisting of Cinthia Saucedo and Cheyenne Reveche held on to an (8-6) victory over Sisse Nielson and Nina Spaeth at No. 3.
In singles, Ute Liz Ferris picked up the team's only point of the day with a (7-5, 6-4) win over Alesya Vidov at the No. 1 spot. The matches at No. 4 and 6 were not finished.
