SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah women's tennis team played an emotional match on Wednesday against Weber State. The Utes dedicated their 7-0 winning match to head coach Megan Dorny's sister-in-law, Michelle Williams and her family. The family recently passed away due to a car accident, and the girls decided to play in remembrance of the family and all of the support that they showed for the team at all of their home matches.
After having a moment of silence, the team handed out remembrance ribbons for the fans and friends that had come to support the team and Coach Dorny during this hard time. It was a touching moment between the girls and Dorny before competition got underway.
Utah's doubles teams stepped onto the courts ready to battle during the afternoon match against Weber State. Elizabeth Ferris and Leigh Walsh stepped in at the No. 1 slot to face Inalise Pienaar and Gabi Venditto from the Wildcats.
