May 12, 2003
SAN DIEGO--Utah freshman Lynsey Wall was one of 10 players named to the all-Mountain West Conference Softball Tournament Team. The outfielder knocked a double in Utah's first outing against New Mexico, while drawing a walk and grabbing two putouts. Wall followed up with two hits against Brigham Young, including a two-out double to score Niki Hayhurst in the bottom of the seventh.
"I just approached the tournament games like any other games," said Wall. "I tried not to be nervous and play well."
In her debut season, Wall compiled a .271 batting average and was named to the all-MWC team. She tied for the team lead with 29 RBI and was tied for second on the team with six home runs.
