SALT LAKE CITY--The Brigham Young Cougars made quick work of the Utes after dropping game one to Utah (11-10) by picking up a 13-0 game two victory. The split doubleheader puts Utah at 16-26 on the season (5-7 MWC), while BYU sits at 28-15 overall and 5-6 in league play.

Utah struggled to ever get things going against Brooke Boyce, who Utah had chased from the circle in the second inning of game one. After allowing six runs in one and two-third innings in the first game, Boyce regrouped and tossed a five-inning shutout to earn her 11th win of the season.

Melissa Oakes started the game for Utah, but was taken out after giving up four runs in two and one-third innings of work. The next Ute hurler, Samantha Schroeder would allow four more runs (three earned) after an inning. Then, Heather Bowlin would come on and allow five runs (three earned) in one and two-third innings.
