Logan, Utah--The Utes' game against Utah State was called after three innings of play because of rain and lighting. Utah led the game 4-2 at the time.
Utah had jumped to a 1-0 lead in the first inning, and had added to that lead after Niki Hayhurst ripped a three-run homer in the second. Utah State scored two runs after a bunt was picked up by the Utes and thrown into the outfield during the first of the downpour.
The two teams will not make up the game, and it is the last time both were scheduled to meet this year.
