Tallahassee, Fla.--After taking an extra day off because of inclement weather, the Utes dropped game one of the Seminole Invitational Tournament, 4-0, to Florida International. Utah (6-10) continues its trio of games scheduled for today as it faces No. 18 Michigan at noon (ET).
Utah managed only one hit in the loss on Saturday morning. It came from outfielder Masie Ota. FIU notched four runs, two earned, to grab the win. Unfortunately it was two Ute errors that led to two runs for the Golden Panthers.
Jen Pursell (4-5) is credited with the loss for Utah after allowing the four runs (two earned) in a complete-game effort. The hurler struck out five and walked two.
