PALM SPRINGS, Calif.--The Utah softball team dropped its game against No. 12/18 Tennessee 4-1 on Saturday morning at the Palm Springs Tournament. Utah is now 6-6 overall and 1-2 in the tournament. The Utes now face Boston College at 1:00 p.m. local time today.

Tennessee's Monica Abbott (12-0), arguably the best pitcher in the country, struck out 13 Utes to earn her 12th straight victory. Abbott allowed only two hits, both of which were to Melissa Stahnke, in the victory. Stahnke connected for a single and a home run in the loss. The long ball was her second of the season and tournament.

Senior Heather Bowlin drops to 0-3 on the year after allowing four runs in 6.0 innings of work.
