SALT LAKE CITY - Rich Manning, in his second year as head coach of the Utah women's soccer program, has been named the NSCAA/adidas West Region Coach of the Year. He is one of six regional award winners eligible for National Coach of the Year recognition.

Manning is 29-6-5 in two seasons at Utah and led the Utes to a consensus Top 25 national ranking in the final polls this season. Utah was ranked 24th in the NSCAA/adidas poll, 19th by Soccer America Magazine, and 22nd by Soccer Buzz Magazine.

Utah had its most successful season in school history in 2003 with a record 16 wins. The Utes went 6-0 in Mountain West Conference play to win their first outright league title and captured the MWC Tournament title. Utah also advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year.
