WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Nine University of Utah women's soccer players were named to the Pac-12 Women's Soccer All-Academic Team, the conference office announced this week. Senior defender Lauren Porter was a first-team selection, while senior defender Lauren Dudley, and sophomore defender Jenny Hutton were second-team choices. Six other Utes earned Honorable Mention status.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.0 and be either a starter or significant contributor.
Porter and Dudley are both four-time Academic All-Conference honorees. Porter boasts a 3.87 GPA as a Psychology major, while Dudley carries a 3.73 GPA in Business Administration. Dudley is also a three-time Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete, while Porter won that award twice as well.
Hutton, who was an MWC Scholar-Athlete as a freshman, earns her first Academic All-Conference honor.
For Dudley, it's her second academic recognition this season, following her third consecutive CoSIDA second-team Academic All-District award.
The six other Utes to earn Honorable Mention All-Academic honors are senior forward Erin Dalley, senior goalkeeper Hannah Turpen, redshirt sophomore forward Allie Wisner, sophomore forward Jen Ericson, sophomore midfielder Leslie Muirhead, and sophomore midfielder Harley Spier.
