SALT LAKE CITY - Eleven members of the Utah women's soccer team have earned Pac-12 Conference academic honors, the conference office announced today. Sophomore defender Sarah Duncan, who has maintained a 3.80 GPA as an Art major, was named to the second team. Ten other Utes earned honorable mention accolades.
Utah's Honorable Mention honorees: Jen Ericson, 3.33, Exercise and Sport Science Avery Ford, 3.10, Undeclared Abby Groth, 3.04, Undeclared Ashton Hall, 3.81, Undeclared Jenny Hutton, 3.58, Exercise and Sport Science Leslie Muirhead, 3.35, Health Promotion Monica Okapal, 3.46, Exercise and Sport Science Harley Spier, 3.27, Exercise and Sport Science Katie Taylor, 3.02, Undeclared Allie Wisner, 3.28, Psychology
Since joining the Pac-12, Utah women's soccer has seen 20 players earn academic honors from the conference, including nine student-athletes in 2011. Ericson, Hutton, Muirhead, Spier and Wisner were among the academic honorees for the second straight year.
In order to earn All-Academic status, student-athletes must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and either be a starter or significant contributor.
