SALT LAKE CITY - Ashley Mason, a junior goalkeeper on the University of Utah women's soccer team, has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District VIII second team.
Mason, a native of Sunnyvale, Calif., has a 3.79 grade-point average in exercise and sport science with a physiology emphasis. She had a 4.0 GPA during the 2004-05 academic year.
Mason was named second team all-Mountain West Conference this season, helping to lead the 22nd-ranked Utes to the regular season league title. Mason has a 0.70 goals-against average and 82 saves in 20 games this season. The Utes have shutout 10 of the 20 teams they have faced this season.
