SALT LAKE CITY - University of Utah junior Adele Letro (Davis, Calif.) has earned another honor today, after her three-goal, one-assist performance from last week. Letro has been named to the Soccer Buzz online magazine National Elite Team of the Week.
The announcement came Tuesday - one day after Letro was named the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week. It is the second career National Elite Team of the Week appearance for Letro.
Letro scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Cal Poly last Thursday. She tallied an assist on the game-tying goal and scored the game-winner in a 3-2, come-from-behind win over Washington on Saturday.
For the season, Letro ranks No. 5 in the nation and leads the Mountain West Conference in goals per game. She is averaging 1.125 goals per contest, having scored nine times in eight games.
Letro has now scored 15 game-winning goals in her Utah career. She has scored 28 goals during her time at Utah, which ranks fourth on the school's career chart.
Utah plays at Pepperdine Friday, before coming home to host Boise State in a 1 p.m. match Sunday at Ute Field.
