SALT LAKE CITY - Maren Harper, who recently completed her four-year career with the Utah women's soccer team, has been awarded a postgraduate scholarship from the NCAA. Harper was one of 58 student-athletes in the nation who participated in fall sports to earn a $6,900 scholarship award.
Harper is currently upholding a 3.97 GPA in political science and earned Academic All-America honors last fall. The defender was also named first team all-Mountain West Conference in 2002. Harper started all 16 games for the Utes, who earned their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth. The Sacramento, Calif., native serves as the vice president of Utah's Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
