PROVO, Utah -- Tonight Utes and Cougars faced-off in storms ranging from rain, wind and hail where BYU claimed the final victory winning 3-2 in sudden death overtime.
The equally matched teams struggled to a 0-0 first half. BYU's Shauna Rohbock scored with 56 minutes but Utah's Aly Hill came back with a flick which slammed into the upper right corner of the net tying the score 1-1. Cougar Karen Robbins scored at 86.20. But Karen Boardman leveled the field when she took a long shot from the outside of the box at 87.20. Rohbock clinched the win for BYU on a controversial ball at 94.48 in overtime.
This marks a 9-8-0 season and 3-2-0 WAC record for the Utes. Their next match up is Tues., Oct. 28 at 3:30 p.m. versus Weber State. The game will be played on Ute Field.
