WACO, Texas - Lauren Field scored all three of Utah's goals, leading the Utes to a 3-2 overtime win over Baylor on Sunday night at Betty Lou Mays Field.
Field completed her hat trick with a header off a corner kick from Missy Dennis with 1:54 left in the first overtime.
Utah (3-1) got on the board first with Field's first goal, set up by a cross from freshman forward Amanda Feigt at 31:21.
Just 15 seconds later, Baylor's Ginny Rosario-Tull scored the equalizer on an unassisted goal at 31:06. Rosario-Tull dribbled around Utah goalkeeper Kaycie Zimmerman.
Candace Reilly had put the Bears (3-1) on top with her first goal of the year at 57:42.
Baylor still led 2-1 with 14 minutes remaining when Field lofted a 40-yard kick over the head of Baylor goalkeeper Monica Housden to knot the game at 2-2.
Field, who was diagnosed with a heart condition during the off-season, has been working her way back into condition this fall after having to take time off. She has started every game this season and has scored four goals.
Utah dominated the game statistically, outshooting Baylor 12-4 and forcing Housden to make six saves. Field's game-winning goal came off the only shot taken in overtime. The Utes also had 11 corner kicks to none for Baylor.
Kaycie Zimmerman, who made her second start of the season for the Utes, played the entire game and made two saves.
Utah returns home to host Weber State on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Ute Field.
