COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Utah battled No. 6 Texas A&M to a standstill for over 75 minutes on Friday night before surrendering the decisive one-on-one goal by Katherine Krambeer.
Krambeer was set up by a pass from Laura Probst, then beat Ute goalkeeper Ashley Mason 75:41 in. Mason, a freshman who was starting her second game, made four saves in 90 minutes. A crowd of 2,106 was on hand at the Aggie Soccer Complex on a muggy evening in east Texas with the temperature hanging in the low 80s throughout the second half.
Utah (2-1-0) got off seven shots against Aggie goalkeeper Kati Jo Spisak, who made two saves. Freshman forward Amanda Feigt led the Utes with two shots. Texas A&M (3-0-0), ranked sixth in the NSCAA/adidas Top 25 poll, had 15 shots in the game.
Utah had 12 fouls in the game to A&M's nine, and had a 5-4 disadvantage in corner kicks.
The Utes wrap-up the two-game swing through Texas against Baylor in Waco in Sunday at 7:00 p.m. CDT.
