Utah vault notes:
Nina Kim came oh-so-close to holding her
landing long enough for a stick. That was
the big dedution on an otherwise impressive vault.
Too bad Daria Bijak had a small hop on her landing
because what a vault. She got the oohs and
aahs from the crowd yet again.
Beautiful vault by Kyndal Robarts. Tough
scoring. Our vaults are
almost off the mat they are so big.
That might have been Annie DiLuzio's best
vault this year.
Kristina Baskett's vault was really clean, but probably
didn't hold up as well in the scoring because
she didn't have the height or amplitude of the
previous four. Those vaults were just huge.
Ashley Postell could have gotten a 10.0 on that
vault, although a 9.95 is plenty good. She was
way up, perfect form, stuck the landing cold.
BARS BARS

Utah bar notes:
It was hard to tell Nina Kim has been out of the bar
lineup for five weeks after that foot injury. Really
nice, clean routine. She got a 9.90 from one judge.
Jessica Duke had a great routine, big swings,
good execution. She had a hop on her landing.
Daria Bijak had a big time routine. The only thing
I saw, and I don't think it's a big deduction,
was she bent back a little on a handstand
after standing it up straight. Really nice, big
routine.
Gael Mackie was great on the bars, performing
big difficulty well. She seemed to get gassed
at the very end and had a large step on her
dismount.
Kristina Baskett's routine was really pretty and
smooth. All of her handstands, release moves, etc.
were right on. She nailed her landing.
Ashley Postell returned to form on this routine.
After some issues the last two meets, she looked
really confident and smooth today. One judge
gave her a 9.95 and the other a 9.85.
BEAM BEAM
Megan Moore 9.850 Jamie Deetscreek 9.775
Sarah Curtis 9.675 Annie DiLuzio 9.800
Kelsey Knutson 9.825 Kristina Baskett 9.825
Becky Bernard 9.900 Nina Kim 9.825
Lindsey Bruck 9.350 Daria Bijak 9.925
Jordan Sexton 9.350 Ashley Postell 9.950
BB: 48.600; Running: 147.125 BB: 49.325; Running: 197.425
Utah beam notes:
Jamie Deetscreek had a little issue on basically a gimme
move early in the routine and I was afraid it would
throu her off. She did have a big balance check after
her series, but stayed on and got stronger as the
routine progressed.
Annie DiLuzio had a monster beam routine going until
her dismount when she took a step. I bet she'd have
scored a 9.95 without the step.
Kristina Baskett just flowed through her routine.
The only little break didn't interfere with it.
She landed one pass and one foot failed to land
on the beam. But it didn't interupt her progress
and Ithought it was remarkable.
Nina Kim also had a fabulous routine going until
a funny looking break, from which she recovered
nicely to finish strong.
And yet some more fancy footwork from Daria Bijak.
She did a nice job catching her punch front with
both feet and just tore it up other than that
little miscue.
Ashley Postell was methodical in showing the beam
who is the boss. She had a big fan club after that
routine.
FLOOR FLOOR
Nellie Kipley 9.825 Beth Rizzo 9.825
Sarah Curtis 9.875 Nina Kim 9.825
Lindsey Bruck 9.850 Daria Bijak 9.825
Katie Lieberman 9.875 Kyndal Robarts 9.850
Kylee Botterman 9.775 Annie DiLuzio 9.875
                               Ashley Postell 9.900
FX: 49.200; Running: 196.325 FX: 49.275; Running: 148.100
Utah floor notes:
Beth Rizzo put on a nice show for her big
fan club. She can clean up her landings a
bit.
Nina Kim came in as last minute replacement
for Kristina Baskett. I'm guessing Kris's feet are
hurting, but that's just a guess. Nina again
did a nice routine on an event she hasn't done
for six weeks.
Daria Bijak had plenty of pop but had a few errors
in that routine. She cowboyed her tuck double front
and kind of skittered on the mat at the end of her
routine. Still, her routine was impressive simply
for what she does and how she does it.
Kyndal Robarts had a great routine, worthy of the
9.90 that one judge gave her. She just dropped from
the sky on her double Arabian, ended with a perfectly
landed piked double back and was clean in her
dance and other tumbling.
Annie DiLuzio's routine was solid but I thought
she had trouble building up steam on her tumbling
passes. She completed them, but that's what it
looked like.
There was only one thing that wasn't perfect on
Ashley Postell's 9.90 routine. She had a step to
the side when landing her gigantic double Arabian.
