Utah vault notes:
That is the best vault I've seen Daria Bijak do
all year. She had a very small step on the landing, but
wow, what a vault. BTW, I called that even before I
saw the score!.
Jamie Deetscreek had good distance and form, but I thought
she was a little low. She had a hop on her landing.
Kyndal Robarts had great amplitude, distance and form
on and off the horse. She had a step on her landing.
Gorgeous vault by Nina Kim from start to finish.
She had a really nice approach ... hit the vault
moving fast.
Annie DiLuzio ran out of that vault. I'm surprised she
she scored that high. She must have gotten a lot of credit
on how big it was in the air.
Kristina Baskett's vault was perfect, period. I refuse
to acknowledge any deductions. The impartial reporters
agree with me. Watch the replay on Greg's email tonight.
BARS BARS

Utah bar notes:
Good, clean set by Stephanie McAllister. She had a pause on that
part where she drops on to the high bar, but it didn't affect
the flow or her handstand.
Really nice flow to Nina Kim's routine. Handstands were all
straight. No big deductions that I could see.
Jamie Deetscreek was cruising until her last release move to
handstand. She didn't get quite straight on the handstand. It
may have been a case where you're not to do a straight
handstand. Lya, Linda and I aren't sure.
I thought Gael Mackie's routine was awesome from start to
finish. Lya said she had a step on the landing.
Daria Bijak's routine was a beauty. She looked really strong,
swung well, hit nice release moves. She landed with one leg
slightly ahead of the other, but that shouldn't have cost her
much.
Kristina Baskett's routine was about as good as it gets. She
leaned out of her landing. I thought she came close to holding
it long enough, but I'm guessing that was the deduction.
BEAM BEAM

Utah beam notes:
The only deduction I saw on Kyndal Robart' routine was
that she was first up. The judges didn't find much wrong either.
Great routine.
Gael Mackie got a little tentative, but she made a nice
save on one flip, when she was crooked, but stayed up.
Jamie Deetscreek moved really fast and smoothly through
the first half of the routine. She paused a couple of times
on the last half, and had a couple of little things, but
mostly this was another really nice routine by Jamie.
Daria Bijak had just problem in her routine and she did
a nice recovery. She landed her punch front on one foot and
had to raise the other leg a little in response. Her leaps are
so high I could walk under them and I'm pretty tall.
Kristina Baskett had a balance check at the end of her
first series. She had another little thing or two, but
also had some really well executed elements.
No problems of any sorts on Nina Kim's routine. She maybe
came off that move where she flips frontwards with no arms
a little slow, but not a break worth much in deductions.
FLOOR FLOOR

Utah floor notes:
Jamie Deetscreek was smooth in her routine. She got a little
ahead of her music on her first and last pass, but I'm not
sure that matters in ths score. I think the deduction came
on a very small skid on the last landinng.
Kyndal Robarts was unaffected by a long TV delay. She showed
some strong feet on her first pass, landing on the top half
of her left foot and not even stumbling.
Daria Bijak is super human. First, she just nailed that cool and
impossible first pass. Then, on her last pass, she hooked her feet
right before her tumbling move and still stuck it. This was awesome.
Nina Kim stayed rollinlg. Nice, clean routine. No real deductions
to sepak of.
Wow is all I can say about Kristina Baskett. What a
great routine. She even stuck her tongue out after
the second pass. Nailed her tumbling, big smiles,
great dance. Count it a 10.0 in my books.
Annie DiLuzio finished off a monster floor with a monster
routine. Honestly, I think both she and Kristina deserved
a 10.0 (Annie did get one, with the other a 9.95).
I'm pretty sure she's never totally, dead cold stuck that
final landing like she did tonight.
