Ute freshman Daria Bijak's next stop is the World Championships.

SALT LAKE CITY - Daria Bijak, a freshman on the University of Utah gymnastics team, successfully defended her title as the German all-around champion today at the German National Championships in Stuttgart. Bijak's whirlwind trip back to her native country will conclude Sunday with the event finals.
Bijak had been in Salt Lake City, attending classes and training with the Ute team, for less than two weeks before leaving for the German Championships on August 30. She will return to Utah on September 4 and resume training for the 2006 World Championships in Aarhus, Denmark, October 13-21, and for the upcoming college season.
Bijak placed eighth in the all-around at the 2005 World Championships in Melbourne, Australia.
