SALT LAKE CITY -
University of Utah junior Annabeth Eberle was named the North Central Region Gymnast of the Year and Utah assistant athletics director Liz Abel is the North Central Administrator of the Year by vote of the region coaches.

Eberle, a three-time All-American, is currently ranked sixth in the nation in the all-around and second on the vault. She leads the No. 5 ranked Utes with 20 victories and has "hit" all 34 routines she's attempted this season without a fall. Eberle already owns eight of Utah's top 10 all-around scores (including ties) and she scored a career-best 39.775 on March 19. She has three perfect 10.0s on the vault this year. Eberle's honor marks the fourth straight year a Ute gymnast has won the region's top honor. Senior Melissa Vituj won the award last year, preceded by former Utes Shannon Bowles (2002) and Deidra Graham (2000-01).

Abel received the region's top administrator award for the third straight year.
