WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--
Utah sophomore gymnast Tory Wilson was named the Pac-12 Specialist of the Week for the third time this season after winning two events in Saturday's tie meet against Washington.
Wilson, the nation's top-ranked vaulter, improved to 6-0 this season on her specialty, scoring a 9.95 in her latest vault victory. Believed to be the first gymnast in Utah history to win six straight vault competitions, Wilson also won the balance beam at Washington, tying her career high with a 9.875.
Wilson's latest award is Utah's fourth Pac-12 Specialist of the Week honor of 2013 and the team's third in a row: Wilson also won the honor on Jan. 19 and Feb. 5, and sophomore Georgia Dabritz claimed it on Feb. 12.
In their two years as a member of the Pac-12 Conference, the Utes have won seven Pac-12 Specialist of the Week awards.
Utah hosts No. 10 Stanford this Saturday in a "Blackout" meet. Fans are encouraged to wear black and be in their seats by 7:45 p.m. for introductions and to ensure they don't miss the start of the meet at 8 p.m.
