Utah Hosts Montana State Monday Night
The University of Utah women's basketball team returns home Monday night for the first of two games at the Huntsman Center this week. The Utes, coming off a 74-47 loss at Stanford, host Montana State Monday night. Utah will then welcome Northwestern Wednesday at Noon.
Utah saw its four-game winning streak snapped at the hands of No. 14/15-ranked Stanford Saturday. The Utes are now 5-5 on the season.
Montana State enters Monday night's contest with a 5-4 mark. The Bobcats have already picked up two more victories than they did all of last season, when they were 3-23.
Montana State has won its last two outings, hammering Utah State 71-53 and stopping Montana-Western 77-71. This will be the Bobcats' first road game since Nov. 30.
Utah Fast Breaks
Utah's 47-point effort against Stanford was its second-lowest output of the season. The Utes scored 45 in their season-opening loss at Gonzaga.
Barring a postseason matchup with a Pacific-10 Conference team, Utah went 2-2 against Pac-10 opposition this season.
The Utes are averaging 13.1 offensive boards per game, compared to 10.5 for the opposition.
Monday's game is the second of a stretch of three games in five days for Utah.
Utah plays its fourth and fifth home games of December this week. The Utes will hit the road for a game at Georgetown on Dec. 30 to wrap up the month.
