SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah women's basketball team travels to Ogden, Utah, to face in-state rival Weber State on Saturday, Nov. 24, at 2:00 p.m. MT.
The Utes are 4-0 this season, outscoring opponents by an average of 14.8 points.
"I am really pleased with the games that we have played so far," Utah head coach Anthony Levrets said. "Our schedule has allowed us to play against four different styles. We've had close games, and we've had games where we have controlled the whole game. Being in different situations helps us prepare for conference play, which is what the preseason is all about. All the games that you play give you situations that you can learn from, and I feel like our schedule so far has provided us with those learning opportunities."
Utah is coming off a 62-55 win over Northern Colorado, needing a late rally after struggling from the floor early in the second half. Michelle Plouffe reached 1,000 career points with 14 during the game, while Rachel Messer scored a career-high 18 points.
Weber State is 0-3 this season with losses to BYU, Boise State and Oklahoma State. The Wildcats play Army on Wednesday before facing the Utes on Saturday. Weber State is led by Kalie Matthews' 12.7 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
Utah is 44-6 all-time against the Wildcats. The Utes have won the last three meetings, including an 81-63 victory in the Huntsman Center last season. Weber State's last win came in 2008 in a 65-63 contest.
"Any time you play an in-state rival you know that you are always going to get a great basketball game," Levrets said. "Weber State is one of our longest-standing rivals, and we are going to have to be prepared to play."
