SALT LAKE CITY -- The University of Utah women's basketball team will head for Albuquerque, N.M. and the Sweet 16 Thursday afternoon. A send-off pep rally will begin at 2:30 p.m. in the parking lot east of the Huntsman Center, with all Ute fans invited to attend.
The Utah pep band, cheerleaders, Crimson Line, Swoop and a host of fans, family members and well-wishers will be on hand to send the Utes off to the airport in style.
The Utes will arrive in Albuquerque around 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Utah will take part in an open practice and news conferences on Friday. The Utes will then wait for 9:30 p.m. to roll around on Saturday, when they take on the Boston College Eagles for a trip to the Elite Eight.
