SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (AP) - Angie Phill scored 12 of her 18 points in the final six minutes as 17th-ranked Utah beat Rice 74-66 and broke a three-game losing streak Saturday.
Kristi Rose scored 15 and Julie Krommenhoek added 13 for the Utes (17-3), who made 14 of 17 free throws down the stretch.
Kirra Jordan had a career-high 28 points for the Owls (14-7), who had won four in a row.
The game was designated a league-crossover and will not count in Western Athletic Conference standings.
With Utah trailing 45-43 early in the second half, Krommenhoek hit a 3-pointer to spark a 13-2 run that put the Utes ahead for good.
Later, a 10-2 run, capped by Phill's two foul shots, made it 60-49 with 4:15 remaining.
