FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Kristi Rose's basket with 11 seconds remaining allowed No. 17 Utah to recover after it blew a 13-point lead, and the Utes remained unbeaten with a 69-68 victory Sunday over Colorado State.
Jacque Johnson hit a 3-pointer, and Heather Haanen drove in for a layup to bring Colorado State to 67-66 with 1:39 to play. Sara Farmer then hit a layup to give the Rams a 68-67 lead with 23 seconds on the clock.
After a Utah timeout, Rose hit the winning basket to give the Utes the victory.
Utah (14-0, 5-0 Western Athletic Conference) led 33-25 at the half.
Julie Krommenhoek led Utah with 16 points, followed by Amy Alcorn's 14. Rose finished with 13, and Angie Thill had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
CSU (13-3, 4-2) was led by Becky Hammon's 17 points. Reserve Haanen came off the bench to score a career-high 16 points, and Katie Cronin added 13.
Utah shot 49.1 percent from the field compared to CSU's 37.5 percent. The Rams outrebounded the Utes 43-36.
