AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) - Kim Smith scored 24 points, breaking the Utah career scoring record Saturday afternoon at Air Force.

Smith now has 2,094 career points, topping Julie Krommenhoek's record of 2,087 set from 1994-98. Smith broke the record with 17:26 remaining in the second half on a jumper which gave Utah a 47-30 lead.

Shona Thorburn added 13 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds to help lead No. 25 Utah to a 79-53 win over the Falcons. It was Utah's 22nd straight victory over Air Force. The Utes have never lost to the Falcons.

Utah (19-5, 10-3 Mountain West) never trailed and led by as many as 29 in the second half in winning its sixth straight game.

Alecia Steele scored 16 points to lead Air Force (12-12, 3-10). She was the only Falcon to reach double digits.

It was the Utes' second win over Air Force this season. The Utes won 90-45 on Jan. 18.

Utah will be in action again Wednesday night at the Huntsman Center, hosting UNLV in a 7 p.m. tipoff.
