Born and raised in Utah, Candace Joseph returns to her home state to finish her undergraduate degree at the University of Utah. She is in her first season as the Utes' Director of Basketball Operations.
Joseph is working toward a degree in sociology and plans on graduating in 2005.
Joseph played in 27 games for San Diego State last season, starting nine. Prior to her time at SDSU, Joseph attended Salt Lake Community College.
Joseph averaged 11.4 points and 6.0 rebounds per game during her freshman season at SLCC. As a sophomore, Joseph scored 9.4 points and pulled down 6.4 rebounds per contest. She earned an associate's degree from Salt Lake Community College, before transferring to SDSU.
Joseph is a 2001 graduate of Lone Peak High School. She had a very successful high school career for Lone Peak, earning Utah Class 4A State Most Valuable Player and State Player of the Year accolades during her senior season.
