Utah's freshman Slim Hamza has been named ITA Mountain Region's Rookie of the Year. Hamza is currently ranked 71st in the nation and has been ranked as high as 50th during the 2011-12 season. The freshman compiled a 20-3 overall singles record in his first year with the Utes while going 14-7 in doubles.

Utah's freshman Slim Hamza and junior Dmytro Mamedov received all-Pac-12 Conference honors, the league office announced Thursday. The selections mark the first all-conference awards received by Hamza and Mamedov.

The seventh-seeded University of Utah men's tennis team (13-12) suffered a 4-2 loss to third-seeded and No. 10 Stanford (17-7) Thursday in the quarterfinal round of the Pac-12 Championships at Libbey Park.

The seventh-seeded University of Utah men's tennis team topped No. 70 and sixth-seeded Oregon, 4-0, during round one of the Pac-12 Championships Wednesday at Libbey Park. The Utes secured the doubles point and went on to sweep in singles play. Freshman Rafael Davidian managed to clinch the match for Utah in singles with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Oregon's Daniel Sardu from the No. 4 position.

The University of Utah men's tennis team (12-11, 1-6 Pac-12) travels to Ojai, Calif., this weekend, for its inaugural appearance at the the Pac-12 Championships at Ojai Valley Athletic Club and Libbey Park. The Utes will first face sixth seeded Oregon in the first round Wednesday at Libbey Park at 2 p.m. The winning team will advance to face No. 3 Stanford Thursday at 2 p.m. in the second round.
