SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's tennis team prepares for the 2007 Wilson/ITA Mountain Regional Tournament held Oct. 17-21 in Las Vegas, Nev. The Tournament is hosted by UNLV and will be played outdoors at the Darling Tennis Center. Zach Ganger (33) will return to the tournament this year as the defending champion.

The teams competing in the Mountain Region for Division I Men's Tennis include Utah, Boise State, Norhtern Arizona, Denver, Montana State, Colorado, Montana, UNLV, New Mexico, and BYU.

Last year, Ganger earned the championship title after defeating Clancy Shields of Boise State in the finals 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. It was this big win that gave the Ute an automatic ticket into the 2006 National Indoor competition. In doubles play, Ganger made it to the quarterfinals with partner Jason Smits at the regional tournament. The Ute duo fell 8-5 to Blake Boswell and Eric Roberson of Boise State.
