ITA Hall Of Fame To Induct Six New Members May 26 At Tulsa

Athens, Ga. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) will induct six new members into its men's Hall of Fame located in Athens, Ga. Among the inductees is former Utah player Jim Osborne.

Osborne graduated from Utah in 1969. While at Utah, Osborne won All-American honors 1965-66-67. In 1968, he was a member of the Davis Cup team and the US Olympic Team. Osborne served as an assistant coach at Utah in 1970, 1974 and 1982, and he was enshrined in Utah's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1991.

As a pro, Osborne ranked in U.S. TOP 10 three times. He served as BYU's head coach from 1988-2003 and was chairman of the ITA Awards committee for 15 years.

The event will take place in Tulsa, Okla., in conjunction with the men's NCAAs, on May 26. Other players to be inducted include Gardner Larned, Billy Lenoir, Jim Delaney, John Sadri and Paul Haarhuis.
