THIS WEEK: The University of Utah men's tennis team, 4-6 on the year, will host the University of Denver (9-4) this Friday, March 7, 2003, at the Eccles Tennis Center. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
Scouting the opposition: Denver, a member of the Sun Belt Conference, owns a 9-4 record on the season.
Reviewing Last week: The Utes took a road swing through California last week to visit three opponents. The Utes defeated Saint Mary's 6-1, with commanding performances from Roeland Brateanu and Nick Coutts. The Utes also faced two of the nation's top teams in no. 5 California and no. 6 Stanford. Despite losing to both teams, the Utes played tough.
Quoting Assistant Coach Graeme Cox:
"We are gearing up for the most important part of our season. We have two important region matches coming up against Denver and Idaho St. and would like to use them to build some confidence going into our Spring Break trip to California and for our conference matches after that."
