COLUMBUS, OHIO - Zach Ganger of the University of Utah men's tennis team ended his time at the ITA National Indoor Championships on Saturday after a loss in the Consolation Semifinals to Arnau Brugues from the University of Tulsa 6-3, 6-1.
Ganger started competition on Saturday in the Consolation Quarterfinals against No.26 nationally ranked Greg Ouellette from the University of Florida. Oullette stepped into the match ready to give the Ute a run for his money. Although the Gator fought hard, Utah's Ganger fought harder and took the first set 6-4. Heading into the second set, the Ute didn't mess around. Not letting Ouellette win a single game, Ganger swept the set 6-0 to take the match.
Advancing into the Consolation Semifinals, the Ute faced No.7 nationally ranked Arnau Brugues from the University of Tulsa. Ganger played hard in the first set, but in the end he couldn't hold his opponent back. Brugues battled through two sets with the Ute and took the match 6-3, 6-1 over Ganger.
