Salt Lake City, Utah - In the round of 16 Utah's Zach Ganger, the No. 1 seeded player, defeated Trevor Thompson from Weber State 6-1, 6-1. Miron Mann, the No. 2 seeded player, defeated Martin Sitek from Weber State 6-0, 6-1. Tomasz Grzyb, the No. 3 seeded player, defeated Mike Banks from Weber State 6-4, 6-3. Nick Coutts, the No. 4 seeded player, defeated Zach Rideout from Weber State 6-2, 6-2. No. 1 seeded duo Ganger and Mann, and No. 2 seeded duo Coutts and Yap both automatically advanced to quarterfinals held on Friday due byes.
The Utah Invitational opened up Thursday at the Eccles Tennis Courts. Joining the Utes in the playing field were Utah State and Weber State. Utah dominated the playing field with six singles and two doubles teams advancing to the quarterfinals held Friday.
