Ganger Moves into the Consolation Quarterfinals at the All-American Tourney

TULSA, OKLA. - University of Utah's Zach Ganger (33) of the men's tennis team knocked off another win on Friday in the consolation bracket at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tournament. Ganger will play in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. CDT.

Ganger faced Will Gray from the University of Tulsa on Friday in the Round of 16. Gray had the home court advantage, but the Ute had come to play. The two went point-for-point in the first set, but it was Ganger who pulled ahead in the end to take the 6-4 victor. In the second set, the Ute didn't mess around. Getting straight to business, the Ute slammed a win over the Golden Hurricane's head to take the match at 6-4, 6-2.

On Saturday, Ganger will face Bassam Beidas (31) from Pepperdine. After falling in the main draw competition to Adam Holmstrom (12) from Denver, Beidas moved into the consolation bracket. The Wave played a huge upset against Luke Shields (5) from Boise State in the first round to take the match at 2-6, 7-6(9), 6-3. In the second round of the consolation bracket, Beidas took on Andy Juc from Furman University. The Wave player slammed a 6-1, 6-4 win to place him into the quarterfinals where he will now be challenged by Ganger.
