Phillip Eilers Falls Short At All-America Qualifying

Tulsa, Okla. - Sophomore Phillip Eilers of the University of Utah men's tennis team fell in the third of qualifying round at the ITA All-American Singles National Championship Saturday in Tulsa, Okla.

In second round action, Eilers came from behind to defeat Francisco Riveroll of Jackson University, 5-7, 6-2, 6-1, Saturday morning. In his third round match Saturday afternoon Eilers was defeated by Eric Quigley of the University of Kentucky, 6-2, 6-3.

Eilers and the rest of the Utah men's tennis team will travel to Las Vegas, Nev. Oct. 15-19 for the ITA Mountain Region Championships.
