Utah Men's Tennis Drops in First Round of MWC Tournament

The 75th -ranked Utah men's tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision to No. 55 UNLV in the rain-delayed first round of the Mountain West Conference Championships today at the Barnes Tennis Center.

The Rebels were the first to get on the scoreboard by earning the doubles point. At No. 2, Henner Nehles and Sean Hubbard teamed up to defeat Utah's Miron Mann and Ryan Scott (8-6). Tomasz Grzyb and Dan Mascall also fell (9-7) to UNLV's Aviram Saloman and Martin Redolinghuys at No. 3.

In singles, Utah fell at three of four singles positions. The matches at No. 2 and 6 were not finished. Ryan Scott picked up Utah's only point of the day, with a (6-2, 6-0) win over Rebel David Campbell at the No. 4 position.
