SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The University of Utah men's tennis team struggled today against in-state rivals BYU. No. 56 Utes fell to the Cougars (No. 75) 2-5, but posted several big wins. In singles play, Zach Ganger gave James Ludlow a run for his money posting a 7-6, 6-4 victory at the No. 1 spot. Also posting a win in singles was Tomasz Grzyb. Grzyb ended his match with a 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 def. against Dominik Kaufhold at the No. 2 singles spot.
In doubles play, No. 15 duo Nick Coutts and Zach Ganger held strong at the No. 1 spot, posting an 8-2 victory over the Cougars' Jose Lechuga and James Ludlow.
Tomorrow the Utes will play TCU at the Snowbird Canyon Club at 1:00 p.m. weather permitting.
