Salt Lake City - The University of Utah men's tennis team concluded their first match on the road by beating St. Mary's College 5-0 yesterday in Moraga, Calif. The men's tennis team remains undefeated and improves to 5-0 on the season.
The Utes swept the doubles to take the first point of the match.
In singles, Utah earned wins at four spots. Zach Ganger defeated Adam Fauvre (6-4, 6-3) at No. 2, while Nick Coutts was victorious over Yury Platinov (6-1, 6-4) at No. 4. Ryan Scott picked up a (7-5, 6-3) decision over J. J. Whitlinger at No. 5 and Dan Mascall downed Tim Welty (6-3, 6-0) at No. 6.
Next up, Utah plays Santa Clara on Feb. 19 at noon.
