Utah Golf To Compete In Kauai Invitational

SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's golf team is set to compete in the second annual Kauai Collegiate Invitational Oct. 26-28 at the par 72, 6,954 yard Puakea Golf Course in Lihue, Kauai. Each day will consist of 18 holes. The first and third rounds will begin at 8 a.m. with the second round beginning at 9 a.m.

The Field: Nine teams will join the Utes, they include, Gonzaga, Hawaii, James Madison, Loyola Marymount, Sacramento State, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and Weber State.

The Last Time: Utah participated in the tournament last year finishing in fifth place, their best finish last season. The Utes shot a three round total of 852, 12-under-par. Kaleb Mahanes, Derek Adams, Chase Hite, and Jeff Kitches participated in the tournament last year. The University of San Diego captured the first place title with a score of 825, 39-under-par.

Last Week: The Utes finished fifth at the Utah Collegiate Shootout with a score of 577, one-over-par. Freshman Camden Nicholson led Utah with an eighth place tie. Hite tied for tenth place with a score of 143. Mahanes shot a two round total of 144. Branca tied for 28th place with a total of 148. Adams finished in 44th place with a score of 156.
